Phased HVAC Renovation for an Occupied School Facility
Harmony Elementary School needed major HVAC upgrades, but the work had to be carefully planned around the school’s schedule to reduce disruption. Frazier Service Company completed the project in phases over two summers, with water-source heat pump (WSHP) replacement also taking place during the school year through off-hours work.
This approach allowed the school to move forward with important mechanical upgrades while keeping the building operational for students and staff.
Project Details and Scope
The Harmony Elementary School project included a full mechanical replacement designed to improve HVAC performance and long-term reliability. Frazier replaced WSHPs and completed other major mechanical upgrades as part of the broader renovation.
The scope also included new roof curbs for rooftop units, structural steel to support those units, and electrical upgrades to support the updated systems. Because the school remained active during portions of the project, some work was completed during off-hours to help limit impact on daily operations.
By phasing the project over multiple summers and carefully scheduling work during the school year, Frazier was able to complete major upgrades while supporting the school’s ongoing use of the building.
